Our Story
AMTC’s roots trace back to Herat, Afghanistan, where founders Savi and Freyá Khafi were born. Facing growing dangers, the family fled to India, bringing only what they could carry on them- gems and gold sewn into their clothing. This source became the foundation of a thriving trade.
Originally bound for New York, Savi and Freyá’s journey took an unexpected turn when their ship broke down in Singapore. They decided to stay- and build their lives on the island.
AMTC began as a general trading company dealing in gold, carpets, grains, and spices. Over time, we focused our expertise on diamonds, becoming one of Southeast Asia’s leading wholesalers. By 1970, we were pioneering unique diamond cuts tailored for designers across the region.
Today, as a Singapore-based private limited company, AMTC continues its legacy through the polishing and wholesale of high-quality diamonds—both colourless and fancy coloured—as well as fine gemstones. For over 70 years, we have worked closely with our clients, establishing a reputation for quality, reliability, and craftsmanship.

In 2020, Freyá was born from a deep-rooted passion for craftsmanship and a desire to bring a more personal touch to the world of fine jewelry. While AMTC has long been known for its excellence in gemstone sourcing and wholesale, Freyá marks a new chapter—where our family’s legacy of trade meets the art of design. Inspired by our father’s lifelong love for creativity and detail, Freyá reflects his vision to move beyond raw materials and into the realm of storytelling through jewelry. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and impeccably crafted to celebrate individuality, elegance, and meaning.
